Here are some important things to remember when upgrading to v5.3:
· This version of the Foxtrot Suite is the latest generation of Foxtrot technology includes the following products:
o FoxtrotOne v5.3
o Foxtrot LE v2.1,
o Foxtrot X v2.9 (a new product introduced this year**)
· Before uninstalling any previous versions of Foxtrot but be sure to do the following:
o Locate and backup the “FTSessionControl.cfg” file on your computer (most likely in the “C:\Program Files\Foxtrot Suite” directory). This file contains your emulator connection information used by Foxtrot LE and the Workstation setup settings. This file will be restored after installing Foxtrot Suite v5.3 so you do not have to reconfigure Foxtrot LE’s emulator settings and redirect the license Path to the server.
· You must uninstall all previous versions of Foxtrot before installing Foxtrot Suite v5.3.
· If the workstation you are using is configured to pull a license from another computer or server (as in your case), it is important to note the following:
o The computer/server housing the licenses MUST be upgraded to v5.3 prior to any clients being upgraded to v5.3
o Any Foxtrot application not upgraded to v5.3 that pulls a license from a machine running v5.3 may not function properly.
· If you want to upgrade to v5.3 without upgrading other machines, you must place a license directly on your machine. We can either give you a temporary license for this, or move one of your full licenses to your machine.
· After upgrading to v5.3, replace the installed FTSessionControl.cfg file with the one you backed up earlier. Note: The backup file can NOT be moved to another machine – it will not work.
