Error Failed to Connect

Summary

Foxtrot LE displays ‘Failed to connect to the default Emulator Session. Do you want to select another session?’ If the session that was originally configured to auto connect on startup is not available.

Explanation

 

Possible reasons for this error include:

1.       The emulator short name display has been changed. For example: IBM Client access can show either Session A, or A, or it can combine both Session A-A. (See article pertaining to Emulator Setup for correction)

 

2.       The Emulator is not connected to the host system. In this case, close the emulator and Foxtrot. Open the emulator and login, verify emulator connection. Launch Foxtrot LE.

 

3.       If same error occurs launch the Emulator Setup Wizard and the path for the HLLPI is viewable.

 

4.       The permissions for the Foxtrot Suite Folder are not set correctly. See the article pertaining to setting Permissions for resolution.
