Question:  Foxtrot X has the ability to add a button/menu to any application.  Was this technology purchased or did EnableSoft build this technology?

Answer:  The Foxtrot X technology was designed and built by EnableSoft.  Not only did we create the technology, we’ve decided to allow other companies to embed the technology in their applications!  This means we have the ability to grow the technology without being dependant on third party technology.

Question:  You showed us how Foxtrot X can add a button to an application that allows an end user to duplicate an account.  What if I only wanted Foxtrot X to perform part of this task?

Answer:  Because you design the buttons and menus (and what occurs when a menu item is clicked), you have complete control over what is done when a user clicks the menu item.  This means you can automate as much of the process as you need to make your employees efficient.  Sometimes automating part of the process is all you need – this is something you can do with Foxtrot X.

Question:  I understand that Foxtrot X must be configured with a FoxtrotOne Script Project containing the buttons that should appear in my business application.  Do I have to tell Foxtrot X where this file is each time it runs?

Answer:  No, once Foxtrot X is configured with the file to use, it continues to use that file even if Foxtrot X is closed and re-opened.  You simply “set it and forget it.”

Question:  Can we upgrade to Foxtrot Suite v5.0 from any previous version?

Answer:  Yes.  If you are on Foxtrot Suite v3.0 or later simply install Foxtrot Suite v5.0 over your current version.  Otherwise we recommend uninstalling your current version, then installing v5.0.

Question:  Does Foxtrot X actually modify a business application, or is Foxtrot X something that must be installed on each workstation needing the “Easy” button?

Answer:  Foxtrot X does not modify your business application in any way.  The button is simply “stuck” to the window without making any changes to the application itself.  This allows you to add additional functionality with no need for expensive custom programming.  Foxtrot X must be present on any workstation where you want the button to appear.

Question:  Can we expect improvements to Foxtrot LE in this upcoming release?

Answer:  Yes.  Foxtrot LE comes with performance enhancements.  Most users will experience faster login speeds.  Some users will experience faster script speeds depending on the nature of the script, the emulator you are using, and the speed of your workstation.  Miscellaneous bug fixes are included.  Foxtrot LE also now operates better when running in Windows Vista.

Question:  Does Foxtrot X work in Citrix Environments?

Answer:  Yes.  In most cases, Foxtrot X will operate properly in Citrix environments.  We are looking for beta testers having a Citrix environment.  If you are interested, please contact EnableSoft.

Question:  We have stopped using green screen access and are now using ITI Navigator which is much slower.  How does the newest version of FoxtrotOne work with ITI Navigator?

Answer:  FoxtrotOne v5.0 contains speed enhancements to work more efficiently with ITI Navigator.  There are also several tips for writing FoxtrotOne for ITI Navigator in our online Foxtrot Technology Group.  Contact EnableSoft to learn how to join this free online forum.

Question:  Does Foxtrot X have the ability to interface with our AS400 system?

Answer:  Foxtrot X does not currently run Foxtrot LE scripts.  This is a future enhancement we are working on.  There is a way to achieve the same result however it is not an “out of the box” solution at this time.  Contact EnableSoft if you have an immediate need.

Question:  Will Foxtrot X have the ability to prompt the user to input information to be used by the FoxtrotOne script?  A date range for example.

Answer:  Although this feature will not be included in Foxtrot Suite v5.0, it may be included in v5.5.  This has been a popular request since Foxtrot X was unveiled.  We are listening and responding!

Questions:  Will this new version of FoxtrotOne be faster and why?

Answer:  Yes, this version of FoxtrotOne will be faster than previous versions for most users.  FoxtrotOne has been optimized to find targets more quickly and accurately.  With the addition of new data tools such as Lookup Lists – portions of our existing scripts can be re-written to use these new features.  This makes your scripts shorter and faster.  If you use Foxtrot X to run the script, you save even more time since you do not have to manually load FoxtrotOne and open the script.

Question:  If I want to purchase 20, 50, or 100 Foxtrot X licenses, it will be quite expensive at the current Foxtrot license price.  How much will Foxtrot X cost per license?

Answer:  Your existing concurrent licenses can be used to run one instance of Foxtrot LE, FoxtrotOne or Foxtrot X.  If you wish to deploy Foxtrot X to a large number of users, we will be offering bundles of Foxtrot X licenses at a lower price point that will make it feasible for you to deploy it to hundreds of end users.  Contact EnableSoft for specific price quotes.

   Who's Doing What:
Based on your assistance, I was able to successfully write a script that automatically logs a message when an error occurs without having to stop and restart the script manually for each record.  Last week, this would have 'liberated' me from having to do so 104 times while the script was trying to run to completion.  We will now be even more efficient with this process, plus I can incorporate my newfound knowledge to other scripts which may have similar scenarios in other areas of our bank.  Thanks for setting aside some of your valuable time to follow up with my support question.
