It's Only 300 Records...

She’s a cash management analyst for a $10 billion financial institution on the West Coast, and we’ll just call her Wendy. Wendy is not an avid Foxtrot user, however, her team had eleven Foxtrot seats available to them and she had heard many stories about it being used by others to resolve data “emergencies.”
It was 2:00 PM and Wendy got the word that there had been a problem with the new cash management account setup function in their internet banking application. During that time 300 clients had added accounts that would now need to be “keyed” in a second time. Good customer service dictated that sending their best customers an email and telling them to “do it again” was not an option AND it needed to be done prior to core processing that evening. It would not be possible to get IT to write a “fix” in that short window of time. Manually re-entering the information was the only option left. It was only 300 records.
Three hundred records!!! Doing it manually would require hours of mind numbing, finger breaking and error filled hammering away at the keyboard. She would have to request that Operations hold off on the nightly core update until it was finished probably causing the online system to be down in the morning further impacting customer service. She reached in her drawer for the Tylenol and headed for the water cooler to think…
At the water fountain, an associate shared with her that it was a “slam dunk” to get FoxtrotOne to automate the task and EnableSoft’s support “is wonderful.” Wendy had been trained on Foxtrot some time ago but had not used it very often.
Wendy secured access to a FoxtrotOne session and called EnableSoft to get some help getting started. She walked the Foxtrot support specialist, Will, through her process. She had the necessary input data in an Excel spreadsheet and she could show Will the Internet browser based data entry screens via a Go To My PC session. Wendy appreciated that there was no coding. Although she had a couple of programming classes at the university she was far from being a “code slinger.” An hour later with a few drag, drops and clicks, FoxtrotOne was entering the records into the Internet banking application with blazing speed and comforting accuracy.
The FoxtrotOne script was started by 4:00 PM and by 7:00 PM, Wendy was headed home to enjoy dinner and the Olympics. Ski Cross has become her new Olympic favorite sport and FoxtrotOne has become her new favorite data management tool!

Based on your assistance, I was able to successfully write a script that automatically logs a message when an error occurs without having to stop and restart the script manually for each record. Last week, this would have 'liberated' me from having to do so 104 times while the script was trying to run to completion. We will now be even more efficient with this process, plus I can incorporate my newfound knowledge to other scripts which may have similar scenarios in other areas of our bank. Thanks for setting aside some of your valuable time to follow up with my support question.
