When performing a Formula or Calculation action, the following error is encountered:

Type Mismatch

This error typically occurs when attempting to perform a Calculation or other mathematical Formula to a text Variable or Field, especially if the Variable or Field contains a comma (“100,000” as opposed to “100000”).

We recommend the following to resolve the error:

  • For Variables — alter the Type to Number or Decimal by right clicking the Variable and choosing Edit Variable
  • For Fields — Upon importing your data, define the Field to a Number
  • Perform a CInt Function on the Variable or Field by choosing Formulas > Show More > CInt. This will convert the type to a number prior to performing the calculation
