Foxtrot Suite – Version 12.0.9

Important Upgrade Information: To ensure proper operation, all Foxtrot servers and workstations are required to run the same version. Upgrade the Foxtrot server first, followed by all Foxtrot workstations. Uninstalling will never delete Foxtrot scripts or databases. All scripts authored in previous versions of Foxtrot will still work in the latest version. Upgrades are included as part of your maintenance agreement for Enterprise Edition.

Foxtrot Suite v12.0.9

New Search Bar
A new Search bar has been added allowing you to easily find things in your project.

New Data Navigation Tools
The Data view has been improved with tools to easily find Pending and Done records. The ability to jump to an exact record number has also been added.  Additionally, a Find option is included that allows you to find the next record containing a certain value (such as an Account Number).

New Data Menu Options
New options have been added to the Data menu for easier record management:

  • Mark Tagged Records
  • Mark Untagged Records
  • Unmark Tagged Records
  • Unmark Untagged Records

Improved HTML5 Support
Foxtrot RPA’s Browser Targeting Technology now works with a number of new HTML5 input textboxes including:

  • Color
  • Date
  • DateTime
  • DateTimeLocal
  • Email
  • Month
  • Number
  • Search
  • Tel
  • Time
  • Url
  • Week

Improved Open Data Action
The Open Data Action now includes the ability to open Excel Files (*.xlsx, *.xls, *.xlsm).

Improved Open Workbook Action
The Open Workbook Action now includes the ability to open a Macro-Enabled Workbook (*.xlsm).

Improved Save Workbook and Close Workbook Action
The Save Workbook and Close Workbook Actions now include the ability to save a workbook as a Comma-Delimited File (*.csv) as well as a Macro-Enabled Workbook (*.xlsm).

Improved Detection
Foxtrot RPA’s detection mechanism has been improved to more reliably detect when certain windows appear. This includes Internet Explorer windows, Excel workbooks and Emulators.

Improved Data Sorting
In previous versions, data would be sorted alphabetically by field name. Due to customer requests, the fields are now sorted in natural order by default. Clicking the Field column header will toggle between Natural Sort, Sort A-Z, and Z-A.

Fixed: PDF Form Targeting
In previous versions, the Pixel Exists Action would not be available for certain PDF form targets. This issue has been fixed.

Fixed: Multiple Running Instances
In previous versions, if multiple instances of Foxtrot RPA were running and one instance is closed, the remaining running instance may fail to detect targets. This issue has been fixed.

Fixed: Importing XLSX or XLS Data
In previous versions, when a .XLSX or .XLS file was imported into an .ACCDB, .MDB, or DBF file, the data was failing to import properly and the resulting data file could not be opened. The user would see the message: “Error: Could not open the recordset. Failed to convert.” This issue has been fixed.

Fixed: Formula Action
In previous versions, certain Formula Actions were not converted properly when a old .FSP project was converted to a .FOX project. In this version, these problematic Formula Actions will not be allowed to run until they are either (a) edited and re-saved, or (b) recreated by re-upgrading the old .FSP project to a new .FOX project.

Certain functions, such as FormatNumber and Remove, would incorrectly produce an invalid result if a double quotes or square brackets were used. These functions have been fixed and they now evaluate properly.

If a data file was loaded and the user entered an invalid data field token into a formula field, a Missing Field error message would display on screen. When the user dismissed the message, the same message would immediately reappear. This would continue to happen forcing the user to have to close Foxtrot RPA using the Windows Task Manager. The same reoccurring error message would appear if an invalid variable token was entered. These issues have been fixed.

Fixed: Lists
In previous versions, Lists were not working properly in certain scenarios. This issue has been fixed.

Fixed: If Action
In previous versions, an If Action would evaluate incorrectly in certain scenarios if one of the following operators were used. This has been fixed.

  •  is numeric
  •  is not numeric
  •  is blank
  •  is not blank

Fixed: Variables
In previous versions, if a Variable value was changed by an Action while the View Center was viewing something other than Variables, the values would not appear updated unless you edited the variable. This issue has been fixed.

Fixed: Project Properties
In previous versions, the Restore Defaults button for Project Properties would not restore settings properly. In certain scenarios, the user’s Email settings were affected resulting in Email Actions suddenly not working (the project would error and stop). This has been fixed.

Fixed: Opening Project
In previous versions, if a .FOX project file was double-clicked, the Foxtrot RPA application would open but not load the project. This has been fixed.

Fixed: Send Data Sends Value Twice to Emulator
In previous versions, the Send Data Action would send the value twice to an emulator screen if the Tab after send option is turned on and the Tab key would not be sent. This has been fixed.

Fixed: Blank VBScript Error Message
In previous versions, if a VBScript Action errored due to a problem with the code, a blank message box would appear. This has been fixed. The message now includes a description of the error as well as the line and column in the code where the error occurred.

Fixed: Open Data Action Not Allowing Tokens
In previous versions, the Open Data Action would not translate tokens in the file path. Users were also unable to view the Table list if the file path contained tokens. These issues have been fixed.

Fixed: Go To Record Action
In previous versions, the Go To Record Action would fail to find unmarked records when working with a Microsoft .accdb or .mdb file. This has been fixed.

Fixed: File Actions
In previous versions, File Actions would fail if the file path did not contain a file extension. This has been fixed.

Fixed: Image Actions
In previous versions, Image Actions would fail if targeting an image file. This has been fixed.

Fixed: Missing Loop Tokens
In previous versions, the Loop tokens would not appear in the Expression Builder in certain scenarios. This has been fixed.

Fixed: IP Address
In previous versions, Foxtrot RPA used the IPv6 address instead of the IPv4 address in the Expression Builder as well as in the audit information logged to Foxtrot Administrator. This has been changed so the IPv4 address is used instead. Additionally, a new Local IPv6 Address token has been added to the Expression Builder in case this information is still needed in a project.

Fixed: Image Editor
In previous versions, if the Image Editor was closed while an image was open with unsaved changes, the user would be prompted to save the changes. If they clicked ‘Cancel’, the Image Editor would close losing the changes to the image. Now the Image Editor remains open giving the user the chance to save the changes.

Fixed: Session History Not Recorded
In previous versions, the Foxtrot RPA session history was not being recorded. This has been fixed.

Fixed: Broken Context Menus
Certain context menus were not working in Foxtrot RPA. This has been fixed.

Fixed: Misbehaving Dropdowns
If the Stay on Top option is enabled on the View menu, dropdown lists would not appear in Foxtrot RPA. This has been fixed.  In some scenarios, a dropdown list would remain on the screen even after Foxtrot RPA was minimized. This has been fixed.

Fixed: Editing Item Capitalization
In previous versions, a user would not be able to change the name capitalization of Lists, Logs, Passwords, Tasks or Variable. If they attempted to do so, a message would appear stating that the item already existed. This has been fixed.

Fixed: Actions Not Properly Alpha Ordered
In previous versions, certain Actions were not alpha ordered properly in the list. This has been fixed.

Fixed: Help Menu Placement
In previous versions, the Help file would not appear in the proper location if the user’s Start preferences were set to Create New Project. This has been fixed.

Active Directory Troubleshooting
Additional diagnostic tracing has been added to help troubleshoot Active Directory login issues.
