Applies to:
Foxtrot RPA, Foxtrot Classic, Foxtrot Legacy, Foxtrot Extender — all versions

Summary:
When attempting to open Foxtrot, the following error message is received:

ES100

This error message is typically displayed because the “System” sub folder, which temporarily holds the license file while it is in use, may be missing from the client’s license path. If the folder is missing, the licensing cannot function properly.

Resolution:
Since the “System” sub folder is typically created on the fly if it is missing, the user may not have sufficient access rights to the license path and therefore the folder cannot be created.  Make sure the user has read, write and modify permissions to the Foxtrot Suite folder.  The default location is C:\Program Files\Foxtrot Suite for 32-bit machines and C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxtrot Suite for 64-bit machines.

To set the permissions:

  • Navigate out to the correct path (above) and right click on the folder
  • Select Properties
  • Select the Security Tab
  • Set the users group permissions to read, write and modify

User Permissions

By launching Foxtrot again, the System folder will be created, and Foxtrot should open as expected.
