Ashland Credit Union Inc., an UltraData user, is continually finding new ways to implement Foxtrot Technology throughout their organization. "We have discovered some very valuable uses out of the Foxtrot® Technology. We have quickly and effortlessly automated many time consuming projects that involve cleaning and mining our customers' data as the need arises. Most of these projects come without notice and in most cases are time-critical," commented Jon Ulincy, IT Manager at Ashland.
One way Ashland ECU utilizes Foxtrot is to automate payroll conversions. Occasionally sponsor companies will undergo acquisitions in which Ashland is required to perform changes to a large subset of members' payroll information. Using Foxtrot, they can quickly copy the needed information from their members' existing payroll department and place it into the new one without the inconvenience of time-consuming and costly manual data entry, and more importantly the updated data is always 100% accurate. Foxtrot then goes back to remove the old payroll data. This process would be a costly and timely task without Foxtrot Technology.
Other uses Ashland has for Foxtrot include "data cleanup" or data consistency tasks. These projects always involve large amounts of data. Such processes include changing the eligibility codes, adding flags to accounts or removing member information from the system. Ulincy told us "I usually program these scripts to work with our FSP application - the primary front-end for the UltraData Software - but have also successfully used it for solutions programmed in the green-screen environment, which seems to work flawlessly." He then added "Foxtrot seems to work very well with the UltraData software. I am glad we purchased it!"

Based on your assistance, I was able to successfully write a script that automatically logs a message when an error occurs without having to stop and restart the script manually for each record. Last week, this would have 'liberated' me from having to do so 104 times while the script was trying to run to completion. We will now be even more efficient with this process, plus I can incorporate my newfound knowledge to other scripts which may have similar scenarios in other areas of our bank.
